It is the goal of the BRATS Program to offer safe, affordable, and reliable transportation to the citizens of Baldwin County in order to help promote a strong economy, protect our environment, conserve energy, and enhance our lives.

About Us

We at the Baldwin Area Transportation System are very proud of our service to the Baldwin County Community.  Our fleet of vehicles transport individuals to daily appointments, to shop, buy groceries or just visit with friends and neighbors. Among the types of routes we offer are: Dial-A-Ride, work routes, routes to kidney dialysis, physical therapy, and cancer treatments, routes for the Association for Retarded Citizens (ARC), and to Baldwin County Mental Health.

Providing work transportation for our citizens is very important to us, and we have been able to establish many types of work routes in our on-going efforts to serve. Our regular routes and work routes are developed as the demand dictates.  Route types include those driven by workers at the business and paid for by the riders; routes driven by BRATS drivers and billed to the business monthly; routes driven by BRATS drivers with weekly tickets purchased in advance by the passengers.  Also, we are often able to provide transportation to work via our Central Transfer and/or Express Routes - with careful planning.  Work Routes are very popular with both employees and employers because they have proven to get people to work on time and to have great tax benefits.  Any interested businesses are encouraged to contact BRATS for details.

Brats has received numerous awards for outstanding service from our National, County, State and Regional Government, as well as recognition for our efforts toward environmental protection.
